About the Procedure
In the initial consultation, a comprehensive examination of the overall oral health will be conducted. This procedure shall include the examination of X-rays, photographs, and impressions to create a detailed treatment plan. Based on the detailed analysis, the process is initiated by cleaning the teeth and then ensuring it is dry for the brackets to firmly stick to the teeth. Followed by which the brackets are bonded to the teeth using a dental adhesive and soft wires, elastic bands are inserted through the brackets to exert gentle pressure to aid with the teeth alignment.
The treatment duration with traditional braces from 18 to 24 months, depending on the complexity of the case. Regular checkup with Dr. Bill is mandatory, to make the necessary adjustments and to also to monitor the progress of the treatment.
Braces Care
- Maintain oral hygiene by brushing and flossing of meals to remove plaque and food particles.
- Take food in smaller pieces and opt for soft food which may include dairy products, soft fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Avoid hard and sticky food as it can damage the braces.
- Be consistent with the regular checkups and recommendations for effective progress in the treatment.
- Do not chew on non-food items like biting nails, pens, pencils.
- Consume limited amounts of sugary foods to prevent cavities and plaque buildup around the braces.
