Brushing and Flossing
Keeping your teeth and braces (or other appliances) clean during orthodontic treatment requires a little more effort on your part. For the best results possible, be sure to follow helpful hygiene instructions provided by our staff.
- Brush away bacteria twice a day, every day. And be sure to floss, too. If you don't brush and floss, your mouth will turn into a bacteria factory and create all sorts of plaque. This can lead to cavities, gum problems and bad breath.
- Also brush your tongue. This removes bacteria and freshens your breath. But don't be too rough – aggressive brushing can irritate your teeth and gums, as well as loosen braces.
